Nike is experimenting with implementing traditional textiles to its shoes, seen on other hand-dyed textile releases like the Air Force 1 Low Aizome and LunarEpic Flyknit “Indigo”.
This collaboration on 3 womens pairs with the London Cloth Company
includes an Air Max 1, a Blazer Mid and a Classic Cortez, each with leather paneling against the indigo dyed London Cloth textiles.
The London Cloth Company
opened in 2011 and is the first Mill to open in London in 100 years, heres what the founder has to say about the material used...
“It is two-ply in both warp and weft. We weave it very wide and shrink it a lot. The yarn is rope-dyed so that the garment will slowly accumulate wear and develop character.”
-Daniel Harris, founder of LCC
The threesome launch on the 1st of September @nike.com
and make sure you protect them with SneakersER
before you get dye draining out of them.
