Kendrick Lamar x Nike

Just two months ago the American rapper announced his partnership with Nike having previously done collabs sneakers with brands such as Reebok.  Well now early sample images have been released by Nike which show the first model of the collab to be a Nike Cortez.

The Kendrick Lamar x Nike Cortez will pay tribute to his highly successful album "DAMN".  The trainer looks to be a suede and nylon upper in a dark red colourway with the iconic Nike swoosh in black.  However  Lamar makes his mark on the trainer with a bold K and L being printed on the heels.  It was important to Nike that the first drop of the collab had to be the Cortez Model as it has been such a popular trainer in  the LA streets where Lamar grew up.

According to reports the Cortez is just one of several pieces from his upcoming collection inspired by the album so keep a close eye there is sure to be more releases.  Unfortunately though a release date has not been announced for Kendrick's upcoming Nike Cortez.
